Louise Goh

Trained in classical piano, jazz & improvisation (Victorian College of the Arts) with further study in improvisation at the School for Improvisational Music, New York University. Professional working musician, composer and bandleader in jazz, contemporary music & pop genres, based in Melbourne, Australia.  


Performer & co-creator (music) of award-winning cabaret show Yana Alana ‘Between the Cracks’ (2014). Recorded & released debut jazz piano trio album ‘Crossing Ahead’ (2013) with L.A.A. featuring Adam Spiegl (double bass) & Adam Coad (drums) with the support of an Arts Victoria funding grant. Core member of cabaret group Yana Alana and Tha Paranas , who will be touring ‘Between the Cracks’ to the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Soho Theatre (London).


Louise is working on her new solo project, with collaborators Craig Strain (electric bass), Darryn Farrugia (drums) and Gideon Brazil (saxophones & flute). The group are heading into the studio to record a full-length album in May 2018 and will be performing as part of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival in June 2018. 


Other current projects include the Appasionata cello/ piano duo featuring Adi Sappir (cello)  and six-piece Cuban Salsa band Avenida Sol.


Recording credits include L.A.A. ‘Crossing Ahead’, Bohjass ‘Christ 3, Buddha Nothing’, Emma Tonkin & First Chorus ‘Cave of Lights’, Susy Blue ‘Curly Girl’, Yana Alana ‘Between the Cracks’,  Yana Alana and Tha Paranas ‘Australian Celebrity’ and David Marama ‘Another Day’.
